Easy Sudoku Tips for Faster Solves
Sudoku gets easier when you follow a few repeatable habits. You do not need advanced patterns to finish easy and medium grids.
Start with naked singles
Scan every row, column, and 3×3 box for a cell that has only one possible digit left. Place it immediately. This is the fastest way to open the puzzle.
Use pencil notes
In empty cells, jot the candidates that are still legal. When you place a number elsewhere, erase that digit from the notes in the same row, column, and box.
Cross-hatch one digit at a time
Pick a digit (for example 5). Look at where 5 already appears, then see which empty cells in each box can still hold a 5. Often only one cell remains.
Avoid early guessing
If you are stuck, go back to singles and notes instead of trying random numbers. Easy puzzles are designed to be solved with logic only.
